Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Today, I want to talk about choosing cabinet hardware. Whether you’re building, renovating, or just looking to update your kitchen, hardware is an easy way to make a statement. I so often see kitchens with the same size bar pulls on every drawer and cabinet. If you’re wanting to make your kitchen look more custom, choosing different sized pulls to accomodate different drawer sizes is an easy way to do it.

When designing our kitchen, I knew I wanted knobs for our cabinets and pulls for our drawers to create a more elevated look. My husband, Nick, and I measured each drawer and used sample pulls to see which sizes we thought looked best on each drawer. Here are some pictures from during the process.

It was definitely a little more work than just ordering standard size pulls for the entire kitchen but totally worth it! Here’s the after!

The varying sizes make our kitchen look so much more custom. We used build.com, as recommended by our contractor. They have tons of styles, sizes, and color options to choose from, and shipping was pretty fast.

We also followed the advice from Studio McGee and doubled up on pulls for drawers 24″ and longer. Here is a link to that blog post: https://studio-mcgee.com/2017-1-26-hardware-placement-guide/

What do you think? Have you ever updated your kitchen with new cabinet hardware? Let me know in the comments!

XOXO,

Liz
